Pandora, Eve,
My sisters, my friends,
Such felines you were!
Hadn't you ever heard the phrase :
"Curiosity killed the cat"?
Yet, you opened that box of troubles,
And you bit into that apple,
Banning us from paradise,
And letting loose demons and dragons,
The seven sins and their company.
Hope at the bottom cannot chase them away!
Now the world we are in is so horrid,
With sickness and death,
With sin and such
Horrid peoples who bring pain to others.
Tell me, Pandora, Eve, was it worth it?
The world without despair or demise,
Only happiness and truth,
Beauty and perfection,
It is gone!
Land where no one had ever :
Lusted-for or envied another,
Tormented or ignored another,
Overindulged,lazed, or yearned for themselves.
It is gone.
Now we are trapped in this terrible place,
With illness and suffering,
Where people are sad and sly,
This is it!
Land where people always :
Desire and envy another,
Anger toward and disregard the advice of each other,
Over-enjoy, relax, and dream for themselves.
This is it.
You oblivious innocents,
You've doomed us to being human!
